In short: choose a film with high UV and infrared rejection, keep the windshield light and pick the side and rear shade for the privacy you want, compare TSER rather than darkness, and have it installed by an official dealer with a warranty card.
Why tint your car
- A cooler cabin. Less infrared heat gets in, so the air conditioning cools the car faster.
- Protection for skin and eyes. UV light burns skin and tires the eyes.
- A longer-lasting interior. The dashboard and seats fade and crack less.
- Less glare from the sun and from other cars' headlights.
- Privacy and safety. Things in the cabin are harder to see, and the film holds glass fragments together if a window breaks.
1. Choose the series
Indium comes in three series. All of them reject 99% of UV; they differ in look and in how much heat they reject:
- Indium Platinum (clear): the clearest option with maximum protection, 97–99% infrared rejection and 64–91% TSER.
- Indium Silver (reflective): a reflective finish with strong heat and glare reduction, 87–93% infrared rejection and 70–81% TSER.
- Indium Black IR (private): deep black for maximum privacy while you still see out clearly, 75–85% infrared rejection and 60–70% TSER.
A general explanation of the different kinds of window film is in types of window film.
2. Choose the shade
Each series comes in several shades (20, 40, 60, 80). For the windshield, choose the lightest: INDIUM 20 PLATINUM, with 69% VLT, so you keep a clear view, especially at night and in the rain. For the sides and rear, shades 40 to 80 are chosen for the privacy you want.
The number in the name is a darkness class, not the exact VLT: a 40 from one series is not always as dark as a 40 from another. See tint shades & VLT, and try the look in the tint simulator.
3. Read the specs, not just the darkness
Darker film is not automatically cooler. Compare TSER (total solar energy rejected), IRR (infrared rejection) and UV rejection. The official specifications of every Indium type:

4. Prices
Indium prices depend on the package (front window only or the full set), the car size (S = Small, M = Medium, L = Large, XL = Extra Large) and the series. Ask for the price for your car on WhatsApp.
5. Choose an installer and make sure it is genuine
The result depends heavily on the installation. Careless work leaves dust, bubbles and peeling edges. Imitation film is also sold cheaply.
- Have it installed by an official Indium dealer in your city.
- Ask for the official warranty card after installation (8-year warranty).
- Check your warranty online with the card number at Indium e-Warranty.
6. Installation
Car window film is applied to the inside of the glass. The installer cleans the glass, cuts the film to the shape of the window and heat-shrinks it (shrink to fit) so the windshield and rear window are covered in one piece without joins. The result is checked before the car is handed back. One car usually takes a few hours.
7. Aftercare
Do not roll the windows down for 3 days and do not clean the inside until the adhesive has dried. A little haze or small bubbles at first are normal. Clean with water, mild soap and a microfibre cloth, without ammonia. The full guide is in window film care.

Frequently asked questions
How long does car window tinting take?
Usually a few hours for one car, depending on the size of the car, the number of windows and whether old film has to be removed first. Ask the dealer for an estimate when you book.
Is window film applied on the inside or outside of the glass?
On the inside, where it is protected from rain, dust, car washes and wipers.
How do I know my window film is genuine?
Have it installed by an official dealer and ask for the official warranty card. For Indium, you can check the warranty online with the card number. Be wary of prices far below the official price.
Can I install window film myself?
No. Window film can only be installed by professionals, so the result is right and lasts. Have it installed by an official Indium dealer to get the official warranty card (8-year warranty).
Which Indium series keeps the car coolest?
Indium Platinum has the highest infrared rejection (97–99%), with up to 91% TSER. Indium Silver cuts heat and glare with a reflective finish, and Indium Black IR is the choice for privacy. Every series rejects 99% of UV.
